Global travelers need their satellite phone to be connected at all times. Satellite phones require a full view of the sky. In order to extend the usability of your phone, we suggest the Motorola Iridium Antenna Adapter. It provides the external connection to the Iridium 9500, 9505 and 9505A Satellite Phones. The Iridium Antenna adapter will work with any Iridium Motorola antennas and cabling. The antenna adapter must be positioned upright during Iridium satellite phone operation. The Iridium antenna adapter utilizes a TNC connector to attach directly to the antenna cable.
AD510-1 has a RHCP radiation pattern over the Iridium band and should be mounted to give an unobstructed view of the sky from horizon to horizon. The bracket (AD510-2) provided with each antenna can be attached to a mast or spar up to 60mm in diameter using the V-bolts provided. Connection to the Iridium handset is made with an appropriate coaxial cable from the TNC (or optional N type connector) on the underside of the antenna. An optional PVC mounting bracket with 1" diameter 14TPI pipe thread is also available.
